VOLUNTEERS NEEDED We are desperately in need of volunteers to help us out to ensure that the club can run productively. Whether you have a little bit of time to spare or can dedicate your time to the club throughout the football season, we need you. We have a number of key positions that need to be filled immediately. So please take the time to read the job descriptions below and perhaps there is something there that inspires you. Any queries that you have, or if you wish to nominate yourself for a task, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch with myself or one of our vice presidents as we would love to hear from you. CANTEEN MANAGER The canteen is an integral part of the success our club. We need an enthusiastic person (1 or more) to carry out the full running of the canteen. The job requires ordering stock, arranging helpers, manning the canteen and the general cooking of foodstuff. This is a fantastic job for anyone who likes the social aspect of our club and is enthusiastic. VICE PRESIDENT (JUNIOR FOOTBALL) Overall responsibility for the junior football program. Job description available upon request. Other Assistance Needed Prior to the season we will be requiring the assistance of a parent/s from each team to assist the coach or hold the position of team manager which will then become a very important role throughout the season. Each Team also needs, boundary umpires, goal umpires and water persons, etc. It is imperative that all parents understand that the club runs entirely on volunteers. Without your assistance we would not be able to support our children through their sporting activities and achievements. So please ensure that you participate within the club and show your support to your child. As the old saying goes ‘many hands make light work’. So I ask you all to be an active part of the club and especially your child’s activities. Please see Club Info and phone and volunteer today. Let's all pitch in to make our Club a great experience for all of our kids! |

WORKING WITH CHILDREN LEGISLATION From 1 January 2008 any person volunteering in the Club who does not have their child playing for our Club (eg Grand Parents or sibling 18+) must have a Working with Children current Clearance Certificate (WWC Check). If the Club has a an overnight training camp then all adults—regardless if your child is on the camp— must have a WWC Check. Application forms are available from Australia Post and must be completed by the applicant. You will need to provide a “passport photo” with your application. The fee is $10.00 and you will be issued with a WWC Clearance Card with your photo on it. Please note that the Club cannot do the application for you. For more information please go to : http://www.checkwwc.wa.gov.au/checkwwc/Volunteers+and+Students/When+to+apply.htm The Club has a duty of care to ensure that all volunteers that should have a WWC Check have one. A record of volunteers sheet will be handed to all Coaches and must be completed and returned to the Registrar by 30 June 2008.
COACHES TAKE NOTE!!! 1. Peel District Junior Football Council rules state that all players must be given equal game time throughout the season. This is not optional, it is policy. Our Club fully supports this policy and insist that it is adhered to. Read the policy and please stick to it! 2. Coaches are responsible for setting up and packing up the grounds. Do not leave the Club until your commitment is completed each week.
